When designing the Medusa shawl I was aiming at simple with a striking detail. But I wanted to keep it simple and manageable with people around and busy family times : I went for garter stitch with a lovely chunky cable reminiscent of a snake on the border.
The pattern is available in 2 versions : the 24 mini-skeins fade version or the 5-color version (with the Weekend advent or 5 fingering skeins sleeping in your stash).
For this pattern, it is particularly important to match gauge. This especially matters for yarn usage - knitting too loosely will use up more yarn, which could be critical as the leftovers are very minimal for this shawl.
